Jessica Altchiler is a podcaster, actor, writer, dancer and teacher based in Atlanta.

Jessica is the creator and host of The Story Project; a podcast for artists to share their stories in order to heal, cultivate community, and create change in the industry and world at large. Top Broadway, TV and film artists highlight the triumphs and hardships of life as an artist, bravely highlighting topics such as mental health, abuses of power, misogyny, racism, and eating disorders. Guests have performed in Broadway shows (Hamilton, Wicked, A Chorus Line), have acted in TV shows (Glee, Grey’s Anatomy, So You Think You Can Dance), have performed with top artists (Ariana Grande, Panic! at the Disco), won prestigious awards (Grammy Awards, Tony Awards®, SAG Awards®), and much, much more.

Jessica made her feature film debut in the supporting role of Brandi Boardman in Candlewood, available on Apple TV and Prime Video. She was the Dance Captain and Swing for the Fiddler on the Roof 1st National Tour (directed by Bartlett Sher, choreographed by Hofesh Shechter) and returned the following year as Assistant Choreographer. She then became the Assistant Director for May We All: A New Country Musical (premiering at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center) and Associate Director for Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella at the Geva Theater Center (both directed by Shelley Butler).

Committed to supporting artists’ health, Jessica offers private coaching and workshops in dance, musical theater, yoga, audition preparation, and career coaching. She has taught at schools nationally including Emerson College, Marymount Manhattan College, University of Arizona, University of Utah, and many more.Her training and certifications include: BFA in Dance & BA in Psychology from Marymount Manhattan College, ABT® Teacher Training Intensive (Primary through Level 3), 200-hr Certified Yoga Teacher (LL Studio), Body Project Facilitator (National Eating Disorder Association), Trauma-Informed Yoga Training (Exhale to Inhale) and Youth Protection Advocates in Dance® Safety & Wellness Certification.

An avid writer, Jessica shares her essays and poems on her Substack newsletter. She also fosters dogs, frequently visits family and friends in NYC where she lived for a decade, and is trying very hard to learn how to play the piano.
